From Design to Deployment: A Japanese
Packaging Company's On-Premises Data Centre

How MM9 delivered a fully virtualized, HPE-powered data center for a manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh -end-to-end, under one contract.

Client Japanese Corrugated Packaging Solutions Company
Industry Corrugated Packaging Manufacturing
Location SriCity, Andhra Pradesh
Technology HPE + VMware
Scope Supply & Deploy

Client Background

The client is a Japan-headquartered corrugated packaging solutions company with manufacturing operations in India. As part of its operational infrastructure expansion, the organization undertook the greenfield setup of a dedicated on-premises data center at its SriCity, Andhra Pradesh facility -one of India’s premier integrated business cities -to host mission-critical enterprise applications, including ERP, database, directory services, and local business applications.

Business Requirement

The client required a turnkey solution that addressed the following workloads:

  • ERP Application Server
  • Microsoft SQL Database Server
  • Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP Services
  • File Server
  • Local Application Server
  • Endpoint backup solution for desktops and laptops

In addition to hardware supply and delivery to SriCity, the client required a single vendor to assume full responsibility for solution design, implementation, configuration, and project management - minimizing coordination overhead across multiple OEMs and service providers.

Solution Architecture

MM9 India designed and deployed a VMware-based, two-node virtualized data center on HPE ProLiant Gen10 Plus hardware, providing a high-availability compute cluster with centralized SAN storage and a dedicated hardware backup infrastructure. All workloads are hosted as virtual machines (VMs) managed via a vCenter Server, enabling workload mobility, resource optimization, and simplified administration.

Key architectural decisions:

  • Two HPE DL380 Gen10 Plus nodes form a VMware ESXi cluster (VCS), delivering high-availability for all hosted VMs
  • HPE MSA 2062 16 Gb FC SAN provides shared block storage, enabling vMotion and failover across ESXi hosts
  • A dedicated HPE DL380 backup server with Veritas Backup Exec and Veritas DLO provides centralized endpoint backup for desktops and laptops
  • The AD Server consolidates DNS and DHCP roles, simplifying directory services administration

Project Outcome

MM9 successfully delivered a fully operational, virtualized data center for the Japanese Corrugated Packaging Solutions Company at SriCity. The solution consolidated ERP, database, file, directory, and local application workloads onto a resilient two-node VMware cluster backed by HPE SAN storage and a dedicated backup infrastructure for endpoint devices. From initial IT consulting through hardware delivery, configuration, and project handover, MM9 served as the single-window vendor -eliminating multi-vendor coordination risk and ensuring on-time delivery to a remote Andhra Pradesh site.

Value Delivered

This engagement exemplifies MM9’s end-to-end delivery model across complex, geographically distributed deployments:

  • Single-vendor accountability -hardware, software, implementation, and project management under one contract
  • Logistics to Andhra Pradesh -seamless hardware delivery and on-site deployment at SriCity
  • Virtualization-first architecture -all workloads consolidated on a VMware ESXi cluster, reducing physical server footprint
  • Centralized endpoint backup -Veritas Backup Exec and Veritas DLO deployed for desktop and laptop data protection
  • Standards-based infrastructure -HPE ProLiant Gen10 Plus with 3/3/3 warranties and HPE MSA SAN for enterprise-grade reliability
